ARI Certification

The Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) is the

association representing manufacturers of refrigeration, air

conditioning and heating equipment. ARI administers a

standardized rating program in which an

independent laboratory verifies that each product

of the ARI membership delivers the performance

that its manufacturer claims. As a result, the ARI

rating system gives customers direct comparisons

among similar types of equipment whose reliability

and performance have been thoroughly documented

based on quantitative and objective standards. Review

the ARI performance ratings whenever you evaluate

ice-making equipment. Some manufacturers choose

to publish a non-ARI certified “application or nominal

capacity rating.” For comparison purposes multiply

Manitowoc ARI capacity ratings by 1.3 (30%) to

approximate these “application/nominal” capacities.

ISO 9001:2000

Manitowoc Ice, Inc. was the first U.S. manufacturer of

commercial ice-makers to receive ISO 9001 certification.

Manitowoc received its certificate of registration on February

13, 1995 for the design and manufacture of commercial ice

machines, bins, dispensers, and reach-in refrigerators and

freezers. Certification guarantees internal control of

the company’s quality system and

ensures consistency in every

process. In addition, continuous

improvement and corrective

action requirements assure that

the company meets customer’s needs and delivers

the highest quality product at the most cot effective price.

Manitowoc’s registration is applicable under Quality

System Standard 9001, the most comprehensive standard

in the international community and it includes the design,

manufacture and support of all products. In 2003, Manitowoc

Ice was granted certification to the next highest level of ISO

Standard 9001:2000.
